MIMA THESSALONIKI 03: Songwriting

MIMA envoys use a “scaffolding” approach when they conduct songwriting workshops abroad. They start by creating rhythms through an interactive “matrix” exercise and then layer group harmonies. Within an hour, students create new melody lines and lyrics that become the “scaffold” or the supporting structure of the final group composition.
